Different Types of Ceramics

Have you ever wondered what is the difference between one type of ceramic and another? Well, here's a general overview!

Vietri Garden pieces
Earthenware
Usually the least expensive, it is also sometimes called Terra Cotta. It's often found in outdoor applications (flower pots, etc) but sometimes it's used in dishware.
It is easily chipped and more porous than stoneware. It must be glazed in order to be food safe.

Vietri Lastra Stoneware

Stoneware
Requires a higher firing temperature because of its vitreous (glasslike) ingredients. Has a finer texture than Earthenware. It can stand up to greater temperature changes, so it's usually dishwasher, freezer, and oven safe.

Italla Taika Porcelain Dinnerware
Porcelain
Known for its strength, hardness, bright white color, and resistance to heat and cold. The finest of all ceramics, it is the most durable and is impenetrable even without any glaze.
