We've loved Alexis Bittar's exquisite jewelry designs since opening shop over 20 years ago. Admiring the hand-carved lucite petals on one of his pins we just got in, we were too impressed to not share the story of how far he has come.

These hand-made, crystal-studded flowers bloom throughout many new "Jardin Mystere" Alexis Bittar pieces - necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

Anyway, before selling pieces to Michelle Obama and the Sex And The City cast, Bittar was selling to passersby on NYC streets. At age 13. He sold pieces from an antique jewelry entanglement his parents gave him as a gift. The design intricacies were intriguing enough to him to begin thinking up designs of his own. Makes us wonder where he would be if his parents would have just gotten him a G.I. Joe...
