National Children's Book Day

April 2nd is International Children's Book Day, a way to inspire children to pick up a book and start reading! The date was chosen based on the birthday of famous children's author Hans Christian Anderson. At Scarlett Alley, we love carrying children's books, and we hope a few of these recommendations will get you inspired to pick up a book and read!

Who's On First:

One of the most well known comedy sketches of all time is turned into an adorable picture book for kids. The illustrations are so cute, and it will introduce your child to the most famous entertainment duo of all time, Abbott and Costello. Published here in Philly by Quirk Books.

Baby Lit Books:
Create life-long readers with these great introductions to classic works of literature from Baby Lit. Beautifully illustrated, Baby Lit covers everything from Dracula to Jane Eyre.

Silly Sausage:
The silly sausage dog and book combination is a great cuddly friend with a silly sausage book to keep your little one loving to read. Published by one of our favorite vendors, Jellycat... they make tons of cute kid stuff.

Secret Garden:

A visually striking coloring book and treasure hunt perfect for creative types.
