Good vs. Bad Flatware

Have you ever wondered how to tell the quality of flatware? It's not just about weight or design, it's about the composition of the metal itself. When buying stainless flatware you want to look for 18/10 stainless steel, like our Nambe Anna Flatware.

This means that it's made from 18% chromium and 10% Nickel. Chromium gives the flatware it's shiny luster and also protects it from rust and corrosion. Nickel helps to protect the flatware from acid corrosion (ie salad dressings and lemon juice) and also gives it warmth, making it look more like real silver. The higher the Nickel content, the better quality the flatware! So, our Nambe sets are both beautiful and practical!
